Investment worth millions creates 36 new jobs in Elterlein

Frauenthal Group invests around MEUR 4 in German air reservoir plant and hires a total of 36 new employees

Since the foundation stone was laid in August 2014, the number of employees has already increased by 15 to 207. The second part of the multi-million investment, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, is expected to create 21 additional jobs - mainly in production. The investment program will expand the production area of the Elterlein site by 20 percent from 6,800 square meters. In addition, a high-bay warehouse will be enlarged and new machinery and equipment will be purchased. For example, a new conveyor system has already been installed to transport compressed air containers around the company premises. In total, the Frauenthal Group is investing around MEUR 4 in construction and equipment.

Construction on site

Not only are compressed air tanks manufactured in Elterlein, they are also developed on site. One example: A new one was launched in January, for which two tanks have been standardized so that less installation space is needed in the truck for the same volume. Space and weight play a decisive role. However, the majority of products are still made of steel: in 2014, this amounted to around 900,000 units. Around 60,000 compressed air tanks are made of the lighter aluminum and are used primarily in special vehicles such as tankers. The development team is also researching the use of other materials such as plastics. The main customer for the products from Elterlein is MAN, but the company also supplies customers such as Iveco, Schmitz Cargobull and DAF.
